With your help, we restore and protect Maine’s waters.

Your donation allows us to take on stream restoration and conservation projects throughout southern Maine, improving fish passage, water quality, and habitat in key watersheds. Trout Unlimited is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, and 100% of your donation goes directly to our chapter’s conservation efforts — no overhead or administrative expenses.

Over the last ten years we’ve replaced many culverts and bridges in the Brownfield, ME area — improving fish passage across the entire Shepards River watershed — and this is the type of work we’re doing every day, as we make a difference for the waterways you love, and those you might never have heard of.

This summer, we removed the Edes Falls dam on the Crooked River — allowing wild landlocked salmon to access 80% of their spawning habitat. With the help of generous donors and grants from partner organizations, we were able to fund the removal of the dam and reinforce the Crooked River Salmon Stronghold that’s critical for the Sebago Lake ecosystem.

We’re helping IFW conduct fish studies throughout southern Maine.

We’re advocating for countless rivers, brooks, and streams in York, Cumberland, Oxford, and Androscoggin counties.

We’re organizing more trash cleanups, tree plantings, and invasive species removal.

And we’re continuing to put boots on the ground to protect the waters of Maine.

We have high hopes for 2025, and your support makes it all possible.
