Royal River Fishing Frenzy

With the best of the 2021 fishing season right around the corner, the Royal River Alliance, in cooperation with Sebago Chapter of Trout Unlimited, Maine Rivers, and the Sebago Lake Regional Office of the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife, will be holding an event on May 18, 2021 at 7:00 p.m. highlighting the fishing opportunities available in the Royal River Watershed.

This will be a virtual event held via Zoom teleconference. The program will start with a presentation by Maine Rivers Executive Director Landis Hudson on the Maine Alewife Map showing where there are abundant alewife runs, highlighted by current reports on where you can go in southern Maine to observe alewife runs. Next will be a presentation by Regional Fisheries Biologist Nick Kalejs of IF&W on species of interest in the Royal River Watershed. They will be followed by Steve Heinz of the Sebago TU Chapter who will roll out and demonstrate the online interactive Royal River Fishing Guide showing over twenty fishing locations. Keeping the teleconference active, participants will then be invited to use their computers or mobile devices to access information on the Google Earth-based guide.

Teleconference and fishing guide details will be posted on the Royal River Alliance website at https://www.royalriveralliance.org/calendar. We believe that this program will be of special interest to fisher men and women of any age who are just getting involved with the sport, so please pass this along to any whom you know. All are encouraged to explore the RRA website to learn of the Royal River Alliance watershed restoration mission.

Register for free at the button below and you will receive a zoom invite to the event.
