Planning a DIY Fly Fishing Trip to Montana and the Northern Rockies

Join Sebago Trout Unlimited as we host Joshua Bergan’s virtual presentation on how to plan DIY trips to Montana and the Northern Rockies. As we all start planning trips again, learn the advantages and disadvantages of a DIY trip versus a guided, or outfitted trip. Gain an understanding of stream access, public land, and how it’s different from the Eastern United States. Learn about places to go that are off the beaten path and tips for a successful DIY trip including gear, time of year, book, and website suggestions. In addition, have the opportunity to ask Joshua direct questions about trips you already may be in the process of planning!

Joshua Bergan is a freelance writer, photographer, author, editor, and publisher based in Belgrade, Montana. He’s the author of the Flyfisher’s Guide to Southwest Montana’s Mountain Lakes and then Tributary: Fishing the Northern Rockies’ Periphery. His work has also appeared in The Drake, The Fly Fish Journal, American Angler, and others.

Tickets for this event are FREE. We’re asking people to register as we have a cap of 90 participants, so don’t wait!
